Say, "Spend willingly or unwillingly; never will be accepted from you. Indeed, you [you] are a people defiantly disobedient."
View 82 More Translations ↓Say: "You may spend [anything], willingly-or unwillingly, [pretending that you do it for the sake of God:] it shall never be accepted from you -for, verily, you are people bent on iniquity!"
Say: 'Expend willingly, or unwillingly, it shall not be accepted from you; you are surely a people ungodly.
Say: "Spend (for the cause) willingly or unwillingly: not from you will it be accepted: for ye are indeed a people rebellious and wicked."
قُلْ أَنفِقُوا۟ طَوْعًا أَوْ كَرْهًۭا لَّن يُتَقَبَّلَ مِنكُمْ ۖ إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًۭا فَـٰسِقِينَ ٥٣
qul anfiqū ṭawʿan aw karhan lan yutaqabbala minkum innakum kuntum qawman fāsiqīn
